Default So yeah, wiring trouble

A bunch of my wiring got unhooked from the amp. nothing is marked and I'm afraid to rehook anything up because I don't want it going to the wrong place and causing damage.

Is there an easy way to identify what wires are what (positive, ground, etc etc) without risking my amp? if I plug it in wrong will it just blow the fuse or cause more damage?

You should only have three wires that are critical - power, ground, and remote turn on. The other connections should all be RCA signal cables and speaker wires. Normally, power would be red, ground would be black, and remote would be blue but I assume that they aren't or you wouldn't be asking. Use a multimeter or test light to determine which wire has constant (battery) power and which has power only when the head unit is on (remote turn on). The remaining wire will be ground.

It won't hurt to plug in the RCAs or speaker wires in the wrong positions so just try them and then switch them around as necessary to get the channels feeding the correct speakers.
