Exclamation Problem with new gel battery! HELP!!!! GTO '05

hey guys i just bought a 2005 GTO about a month ago and it needed a new battery so i took the old one out, went to autozone, purchased a $200 Optima gel battery, and put it in but as soon as i connect the terminals the fan turns on and the horn stays on, so i take out the horn fuse reinstall the battery, the fan turns on again and i go to turn the car on but it has no power, WTF!!! need help, very frustrated...

Sounds like you've got a short somewhere, man. You need some wiring diagrams and you'll just have to trace along every point of those circuits for starters. Get yourself a test light and a digital multimeter.

Here are some schematics I dug up for an 05 GTO. I can't really see anything in common between the two.
