Thumbs up Help Me Build My Sound System

I will be purchasing the adapter to keep my steering wheel controls, and i will be buying an HUmount too.

Well my whole sound system is stock, and in the truck i have the 12 disc cd changer. None of my speakers are blown, but i want to replace them anyways.

So lets begin

Harnesses - what will i need to make an aftermarket radio work?

Receiver - i want the deck to illuminate red, as my Trans Am interior lighting is already red. I have no idea who makes good receivers anymore. I have always used Pioneer. I know Kenwood is good as well as others.

Speakers - I know that JL Audio is the best when it comes to speakers, but a little too pricey. Again i have used pioneers never had any problems. I know that i need 2 ohm speakers. Now do i want tweeters for the front and rear? Or fronts only? What about the sail panel speakers? I think everyone jsut eliminates them if i am not mistaking? And do we really need rear speakers? I would still like them

Amp - can i still use the stock 4-channel amp? Or would i need to replace it? If so which is a good amp and how many channels?

Subs - I do not care to add a sub.

I think that is all for now.

Thanks for your help

I would say check crutchfield or keeaudio, the alpine 9886 illuminates red and has SICK sound. its comes with all the harnesses and adapters you need so thats not something you really have to worry about.

I would also get an external amp to power a sub that could be put in the DS cubby, it really packs an extra punch and doesnt even have to be that expensive. As for speakers, i think anything over stock is an improvement

I pmd kee audio and no one has responded back to me. i am sure they get flooded with PMs though. I will look at crutch field.

I really do not want a sub. no need for one, but that is just me.

As for speakers. Which speakers should i eliminate? The sail panels or the rears.

If your gonna delete any get rid of the rears not the sails. You can get sail replacements that will provide your bass along with good sound since you don't want a sub. Then with some good highs & components in the doors you'll have a nice SQ friendly sound system for your style of music.

Ditch the rear hatch speakers and put Some CDT 6.5" subs in the sail panels!

The CDT ES-06, will drop right in,and the HD-M6+, will fit with spacers(around 1/4") or massaging the metal within the sail panel back around a 1/4".

Thanks Mike for your help. How much do the spokers that you PMd me run?

What size do i need for the front? The sails are 6.5" right?

I have never heard of these speakers at all. What type of music do you listen to?

Doors should also be 6.5's in the T/A's. But you want to buy mids by themselves & then the door speakers in a kit with the tweeters.
