Default How to remove monsoon head unit?? Monsoon button-light question?

I'm planning on replacing my headunit with either an aftermarket head unit or a like new(or new) factory radio.

I pulled the radio out the other day to see what all connections were going to the back of the head unit since I had never taken one out of a camaro before, and on the large black wire closest to the driver side I couldn't see a way to disconnect it from the actual head unit. Please help!!! Is this the antenna or something??? Does this hook into an aftermarket head unit??

Also, I have some lights out in the head unit.....station preset 1 and 4 are out, along with the auto tone and eq *****. Is there any way to change out these bulbs???

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!

Should be the antenna wire, when I got my car it had already had the original swapped but when I changed it out to my Clarion and all I had to do was plug it right back into it. You should just be able to pull them apart.

The thick black cable should be the antenna. Its stiff, but will pull out.

Here is how Midnight F-117A replaced the bulbs in his Monsoon headunit with LEDs:

Here is another write-up:
