Default Stealth Enclosure

I am thinknig about getting rid of my 2 12's for trunk space and thinking about the subthump stealth enclosure. I have 2 infinity kappa 12's now and would like something pretty comparable but i do understand that a 1 10' won't hit as hard as my 2 12's but what i have now is overkill anyways. I am on a price budget so what would be the best bang for the buck sub?

if you have the money go with a jl stealth box. i got mine done and i have a 10w3 with a 450w alpine amp and its plenty for me. it shakes the mirrors but i can still understand the music.
btw what is your price budget?

Default How About Sub Thump?

I know the owner of a stereo shop who told me JL Audio is so expensive because they don't manufacture their own speakers. Its not because they offer a better product. Their enclosures are produced by another company and then marked up. Consider Sub Thump and then load it with a quality sub like Rockford Fosgate. You'll probably have much better sound.

I had 2 12inch alpine type r in box taking up the ttops area. I just got a subthump stealth and a RE SE 10 and that thing thumps. It isnt quite as loud as my other setup but only weighs about 25 pounds total, as opposed to the outrageous weight of that box and subs before. I am 100% happy with my decision to switch. got mine on ebay from dimension audio, brand new for 142. heres more info on it

great way to pass around rumors.

please dont pass on stuff that a guy that works at a stereo shop says.

They are so expensive because they can be. They have been the leader in the industry for many years, before the owners of some of the companies were even born. People equate them with quality and cutting edge technology. The newer startup companies need to be cheaper and more competitive in order to get their reputation built. other brands, like fosgate, or even sony, have resorted to just making lower quality stuff to offer stuff at competitive prices.

back on subject: unfortunately without a decent budget you wont get GREAT results, unless you have the skills to make your own box and you get creative. I did my install for very cheap, but i made my fiberglass stealth enclosure to use a 12" sub, then got a sub from a friend for cheap (he pulled it out of his old car before he sold it).

If JL is in the buget 1 10" w6 is more than you could ever need..... Airspace in the stealth box is a little tight but it will work

CVX I got one in my TA now. Not as good as the w6 but still impresive and will work with the available airspace in the stealth box as long as you get a good box...

I'd recommend a MTX Thunder 9500 series sub (10 inch). I have a 8500 series (a downstep from the 9500) and get told by everyone that it sounds like 2 12s! I overpaid for my stealth enclosure ($300) but it looks like it's a factory addition.

I'd tell you to look around for the enclosure. I'mnot sure whose a sponsor on here for these and don't want my post edited in case i pot something that's not sponsored on here.

Let us know what you do!

I have 275-300 to spend on stealth enclosure and sub. i already have a amp that pushes 1200 watts rms. I was thinkin the subthump stealth enclosure complamented with the kicker cvx 10'. or the alpine type r as i have type r 6 1/2' but i do like the kicker products.

sorry, not a fan of kicker at all.

may i recommend the Image Dynamics ID10? i know its somewhat inexpensive and its a great sub. not the loudest, but one of the best for the money and should fit into your budget.

check woofersetc for the sub and subthump for the box

dont focus as much on power, but rather on a quality sub that can use the small air space.
