Default cutting out

i just installed a alpine amp and a alpine type r 10" in my car today. the problem i am having is that when i turn the bass and the volume up the sub cuts off. it has a good ground and everything is wired properly. the amp itself isnt losing power the sub is just cutting off. i am using a line out converter because i am using the monsoon. do you think it is the problem? thanks for the help.

Did you appropriately set your gains? You are probably overdriving your amp.

it doesnt matter where the gain control is at. unless it is all the way down obviously. what would be the cure for overdriving the amp?

Sound like the amp is shutting the power off to the speakers to me. You could be getting an amplified signal from your lineout and that would be my guess to why the amp keeps kicking off.
