Default Bose question.

My Bose six disc just took a crap in my Z71 no sounds nothing doesn't even read that it's full of cd's.
I have a Sony cd/mp3 player layin around. My question is will it be compatable with the Bose system?
Thanks

Im not sure what year your truck is but generally onstar is what causes problems. There is a special harness required to keep door chimes etc.

It's an 03. I don't use the OnStar. I'm kinda stuck between stickin my Sony which I really like in there or tryin to get another Bose off ebay. I might just buy a kit this weekend and try it out and see what happens.

im tryin to remember correctly, but there is either a harness to make it work, or you have to replace the entire system, speakers and add a amp, etc. on the bose, each speaker has an individual amp for it plus you have a powered sub somewhere.

might try posting this on the performancetrucks.net sister site. they have a stereo/electronics section there too, and everything is truck-specific over there, you use the same username and registration over there as here

Thanks. This is the kinda stuff I thought I might run into. I know there's a harness for the steering wheel controls, but I don't know about the rest of the system.
