How much are you looking to spend on an amp and what kind of enclosure are you putting the woofer in?

originally my thought was to use one of the 'stealth' boxes that go in that space in the back on the driver's side

not sure about expenses, i wanted to stick with JL Audio as well on the amp to keep in-brand with the sub, but if theres better or equal for a better price i'll go that way.... i jus have no idea how to start to shop for one, i jus know what sub i want....

I would double check to make sure the w7 will fit where the stealth box goes on the drivers side of the hatch. Its a fairly large sub.

man that sub is huge. you could put it where the flat surface is in front of the t-tops. i think that sub is way more than you need IMO. I would look at the JL w6.

You really want to spend $500.00+ dollars on a single 10" subwoofer. Damn!! Some people hear certain brand names and just hand over their wallet. There are several subs out there that will perform as well or better in a stealth enclosure and cost about half that or less. They just don't say JL on them.
A W7 won't fit in a stealth enclosure anyway or perform well in one. The biggest JL sub you can really do in one is a W6 but again...for the money there are much better buys out there.
JL Audio 10W6: $257.00 spec sheet: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=5

Fi Q10: $234.00 spec sheet: https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraud...iew.shopscript

CDT QES-1020: $379.00 (ask me about special price on this sub) spec sheet: http://cdtgold.com//pdfs/QES-1020W.pdf

RE Audio SE10: $149.00 spec sheet: http://www.reaudio.com/specs.html

All of these mentioned will perform well in a stealth box. I know there are several more but those just came to mind.
After you decide what sub to run you can then choose a quality amp to go with it that matches the output rating of your subwoofer. Most people are generally satisfied with around 300-400watts RMS. The subs above would do well with a bit more power then that.

man if it were me i would not ever get a w7 for a f-body. just overkill. you can like keeaudio said find better products with same quality as jl audio. i to looked at the w6 but researched and found alot of info on other products. I ended up getting the Fi ssd10 with copper coil. Keeaudio is building the stealth enclosure for me. Can't wait to try it out.

my needs. my amp only pushed 600 watts rms 2ohm bridged so there was no sense to spend anymore money on something i would never use. I already had another system. I had 2 infinity kappa 12's that i sold and wanted to go with one 10. I don't need anything drastic like the 2 12's that i had. 600 watts rms is plenty IMO. I had i think like 1200 and it was overkill.

Ok if your heart is set on the woofer i would go with the jl 1000/1 If not i would suggest some other ideas that work better in a stealth box. These are just my experiences and not the only way to go. Ill match amps with sub brand.
Alpine Type R with MRPM500
Alpine Type S with MRPM500
JL W6 with 500/1
JL W3 with 250/1
kicker cvr with zx300.1
kicker L7 with zx 500.1
kicker cvx with zx 500.1
memphis m3 with 16-mc1.500
