Default All going in the Z28 today.. wish me luck...

OK, everything sound is going in today... starting as soon as I enter this...

Lets see:

HU Mount (going to dimmer wire/power)
Pioneer 7100BT (IPOD/USB's to inside console, BT microphone up high)
New wiring harness
Kicker 10" CVX Sub in a custom stealth box
Kicker KS Series speakers (doing all 6 including the hatch ones because I can)
Kicker 500.1 AMP (for SUB) and Kicker 350.4 (for speakers) mounted on the wall under the hatch lock catch
Power Acoustik CAPCELL-600
Lots of dynamat for doors, behind speakers, trunk, etc
Lots of 4 gauge wiring, mounting gear and other random stuff
Viper Alarm system going in at the same time

2 of us, estimating 5 hours.

Looking forward to getting it all working.

About 3/4's done. Looks like it is going to have to be finished off tomorrow.

This is a LOT of work to do right.

Also, WTF would anyone rivet speakers into the car. Thanks GM.

A little fyi. If you plan on running 6 kicker speakers on that 4-channel amp, you will be disappointed. I have never had one that ran more than 4 speakers unless you wire the rear speakers in series. My experience has been because the kicker speakers ohm at like 3.6 ohms and when you parrallel them it drops below the amps 2 ohm threshold.

Still going...

Everything now works - all cosmetic fixes, wrapping wires, making sure things don't touch other things and clean up left at this point.

Yes I will have images for you all at that stage.

In my 00 the sail panels and hatch ones were. The doors were not.

Work got in the way of finishing the cosmetic stuff. My friend is still out there putting things back in place. I hate when things come out easy but don't want to go back where they belong.

Shouldn't be too much longer before there is pictures. The HUMount and HU look great!

Yeah, my hatch speakers were riveted too. But i just pry'ed em up with a flathead screwdriver and with minimal work they popped out. Afterwards I just popped em back in to hold the speaker and it was fine..

What viper system did you put in? How hard was that install? I got a python 990 in my car (Identical to Viper 5002) and that was the only piece of my car i dident install. Looked like too big of a pain because of the sleeper doors.
