Double Din install in my Trans Am
I got a Pioneer AVIC F-90BT. double din, with bluetooth and navigation. And I got a Kenwood back up camera.
I installed it all myself, its what I do anyway.. I also built the dash piece as well, its my first one.
Its really not that bad to do, I've put double dins into harder cars before.
I got a dash piece from a junkyard, the guy just gave it to me. That way I didn't cut up my stock one. I cut out the top and bottom and cut some ABS plastic for the sides. I tacked in the abs with some super glue.
I then used some abs weld and let it set overnight. One thing i did to add some strength is cut about 6 small triangles to brace the back side of the abs, sorry I forgot to take pics of that.
Then when that was dry I filled it in with bondo.
Once that dried, I used some glazing bondo to smooth it out. It takes a bunch of sanding to get it all smoothed. I primed and sanded twice before I finally got the smoothness I wanted. Then sprayed it textured black.
It looks good to me, and that textured finish helps to fill in any imperfections but I think I may go back and try to match the gray with interior paint instead. I just don't like how it feels.
This is the finished product.
These are all camera phone pictures too, sorry for the bad quality.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
It would be roughly 150 to install the double din with bluetooth and nav. and another 150-200 typically to build the dash piece..
And for the guys asking about me making some more.. There may actually be a vendor on this site that sells them so I don't want to step on anyone's toes. But I am considering building a few more.. Just pm me if you're interested and we can work something out. I think I can build them with low cost and it would be something I do on the side so I could also sell them cheaper I believe.

FWiW...on a 00-02 Tahoe/Yukon (same body style) you can put a DDIN head unit in it and make it look factory. You just need the trim bezel and radio a/c bucket from an 03-06. Drill out two rivets and swap parts. It all bolts up and looks factory...Ask me how I know?! And as far as using mounting brackets to hold a DDIN in a 4th gen T/A or catfish style Camaro; use Metra dash kit 99-3305 and just steal the side mounting plates out of it and the "holes" line up for mounting and clearance of the radio trim bezel.
