Default What is the best hatch/well box?

So i want to buy a rear hatch/well box, but i dont know which one to buy. i have done a bunch of searching, but no one does any comparisons, at least from what i have been able to find. I know subthump has some nice boxes, but their prices are kind high. Kee sells a decent box, and i trust his work since i have bought from him before, but are there boxes out there better for the price?

I love my subthump t top box. Even without the system in it (long story), I still have the box back there for the glass. Its a nice peice, and gets tons of looks at car gatherings.

I just put 2 10's on either side. Sounds great!

(Right sub is in a Subthump box.)

dang thats a really clean instal. i guess im just too cheap, lol. the boxes ou have go fo rlike 100 a piece dont they? i was hopngi to spend 100 or so on the box. question for ya, how hard is it to remove those boxes if you wanted to go to the track? that was another reason i was looking at a drop in box for the well, so i could just lift it out when i went to the track.

can anyone pm a good place of a sponsor here that sells cheap sub boxes for the rear sides? so why does it seem that you can only put 10's in the box and not 12's?

For me, it was a clearance issue. In order to fix a box that would be able to support a hold for 12", I would have needed to make some serious custom mods to the L and R trim panels. Didn't think it was necessary to go that far. Both 10's hit pretty hard as it is.

^^^^ yea it looks like this is the route im going to go. Its not the cheapest route, but i think i will be much happier. I spent a week putting my t-tops in the back seat area, since i have no back seat, and it got annoying really quickly, so im just going to keep them in the stock location.

also, did you make that section that covers the subs? it looks really clean. How much does that affect the sound of the subs?
