Default Replaced Head Unit and no sound...please help

Alrighty my CD player crapped out so I decided to get a new head unit. I didn't have a wiring harness because I am an *** so I decided to just wire the radio harness in going by the factory wiring diagrams...because I didn't want to wait and buy a wiring harness. Anywho stereo fires up no problem and the cd is palying but there is no sound. Guessing an amp issue but I am not sure how to solve it...yes I would like to keep all the factory amps and speakers hooked up.

2001 SS Coupe with the factory Monsoon system single CD player.

If someone could help me out it would be great.

Thanks much.

Scott

The factory head unit wiring pinout schematic is in the Monsoon FAQ sticky at the top of the forum.

Does it work with the radio? If so then you wired the amp wire using the power antenna wire from the deck (blue) instead of the remote wire (blue/white).

There is no amp on/off signal wire with the monsoon system. The amp gets its signals through the + and - speaker wires themselves.

Success...Thanks guys.

I actually ended up wiring the amp power to the ignition switch and everything is working fine. That remote (blue/white) was screwing me up because I thought that was the answer but as you know it is not. Ended up with the Pioneer DEH-P5100UB which installed good and looks great, I also replaced the front speakers because the left front was blown. The car sounds amazing now and I don't need to f' around with a transmitter for my XM or iPod.

Thanks again,

Scott
