OK not any radar detector..but i want to know which one is good that HIDES itself from RADAR DETECTOR "DETECTOR'S....

I go thru Virginia alot and always have to unplug mine...cause i have been pulled before for having it plugging in and they were able to detect i had it.

I want to know a radar detector that WORKS!!! not just says on the box that it does...cause my old whistler says it did but didnt!

Ive always had good luck with Beltronics and Cobra. By far the best is the hidden units, the 9500ci, i believe. But they are like 2500 bucks

The Escort 9500ci is a completely concealed system, it detects radar and detects/jams laser/lidar. Its pricey, and supposedly there are better units out there for jamming laser, the best being the LI. Im pretty sure the V1 will hide itself from a radar scanner though.

I have a cobra that warns me when VG-2 is being used and blocks it, -that's a form of radar detector detection, I'm not sure about other ways they detect them though... anybody else know more...?

k40!

2 leds to indicate front and rear detection, also has a beeper

hidden switch to turn it on city, highway, off and control the volume, it's under the steering column

one detector is hidden in the front bumper, the other in the back.
i doubt you will ever come across a cop who knows how to look for this.

my cobra seems to do the job. I don't believe there is any detector that will keep you from getting a ticket. if its gonna happen then its just gonna happen.

My sister lives in VA and I've got an Escort 8500 and I haven't been stopped for it. It also has a complete blackout option so all you get is audible warnings so the cops don't notice it even at night if they're behind you without radar on.

Escort has an eBay store and they sell the refurbished 8500's for $149.95 shipped. Or you can get the 8500 X50 for $199.95 shipped. I've got 2 of the refurbished 8500's and I'm VERY happy with them!

Here's a link to their eBay store:

YES but VG2 is suppose to hide the detector from the police that have Radar Detector detectors!...I know first hand when going thru VA years ago to the Bristol race. THEY HAVE IT. I had my detector plugged in but sitting on my lap just to see and to also not get pulled for speeding...and BINGO! was pulled over and and the VA highway patrol asked me where my radar dectector was...he knew i had one! he was running radar and I put it in my glove box and swore I didnt have it plugged it. BUT HE KNEW I WAS LYING!

so what detectors VG2 works?

doesnt matter if they can find it or not....i just dont want to give them a reason to pull me over wether im speeding or not and if they detect i have one..thats their reason.

I'm sorry, maybe my post wasn't clear. I am running the Escort 8500 mounted on my windshiled (at the very top, so it's not obvious) and VA cops did NOT pick it up. I was referring to the ability to turn off the display and have audible alerts only because at night, if a cop is behind you, he can still SEE inside your car and if he flips on radar and you light up like a Christmas tree, he's going to know you have a radar detector even if it's invisible to his VG-2. The 8500 is supposed to be invisible to VG-2, and I've run it in VA and NOT been pulled over for it...however, you still have to use common sense and either have the display turned down, off, or concealed, so even if it is invisible to VG-2, the cop still has eyes and can SEE it with HIS/HER eyes if it goes off and doesn't register on their VG-2.

Beltronics STI driver is built to be undetectable by rdd's. I've driven through va with it and its been proven in tests.
