Default Static issue with aftermarket HU

I seem to be getting more static from the radio stations with the new HU than I did with the factory. Is this normal? The CD and iPod work great, super clear.

Any help or tips would be great.

One of the issues of a better (more sensitive) receiver is you also receive static better. The only cures are really hard to do on a car, with the exception of choosing stations that are closer to you physically.
