Default Antana adapter wtf!?

So one of the metra kits or something came with the hu install din, wire harness, and a antena adapter. After a long & PITA install, should have done it in the evening but did it durring the hot *** sun, anyways after that i go to plug in the antena adapter and install it and the adapter (which is 2" or so long for some reason) hits something in the back and keeps it from going in easily. Anyways i just ended up not installing it but anyone else have this problem?? Why did they make the adapter so long?

Are you using the 40-GM10? You probably want the 40-GM30. Its shorter and has the barb.

I'm using the 10 and even though it doesn't have a barb and its longer, it still stays in and works fine.

I looked those up and yeah mine looks way different, there is no flexible cord or anything just a metal adapter that's too long. Guess ill have to mod this one or get one of those. Thanks!
