Default dash lights no worky

so when i turn the headlight switch on or even to parking lights all my gauge lights and radio lights turn off.anyone know whats up?

Have you checked the fuses? There are two fuses involved in the dash lights. If your tail lights aren't working then the TAIL LPS fuse is probably the problem. If the tail lights are working then the IP DIMMER fuse is probably blown. Never rely on visual inspection of fuses - they can be blown but look fine. Always use a tester or replace with a known good fuse.

yeah it blows the fuse and if i put a larger one in it will route itself to blow a smaller one.had a guy tell me the ceramic in the headlight switch is broken and replace had one laying around didnt work.

That would have been good information to include in the first post.

Have you done any electrical mods lately? Perhaps installed some gauges or a new head unit? Have you had work done on the window motors or HVAC?

damn it wasnt done stupid button.
had a window motor done about 2years ago this problem is at least 8 months old or longer

I am having this same problem. My ip dimmer fuse will blow when I raise the brightness everytime.... I just did a tick master cylinder install and I thought that when I pulled up the harness it may have pulled something loose but they were working right after the install. Anymore ideas?
