Default Camcorder mounts?

I have a Panasonic HD camcorder I'd like to somehow mount in my interior and film a couple passes at the track or whatever. It records to SD cards, so it's pretty light. I just can't think of a good way to mount it. At first I was just thinking of a way to affix it to the dash, but then I thought it might be nice to have the gauge cluster visible to watch MPH and RPM's.

Surely someone has thought up a unique way to mount a camera.

I bought a camera mount online where you can mount it pretty much anywhere with a glass or body panel.

Does it use a suction cup or something then?
