Can other key fobs be programmed for the Camaro if they are the same style

Can other key fobs be programmed for the Camaro if they are the same style ...look and function just came with a different vehicle?
Reason I ask is because a guy has one for a different GM vehicle, possibly from a GMC Jimmy. And, I need a replacement for the one I lost for my Camaro.
