I HATE my stock alarm
Ok, so besides the fact that the alarm goes off if you dont get the key in the ignition within 5 seconds is bad enough, I have a problem on top of that. For the last two days, everytime I lock my doors with the power locks to arm the system (I dont have keyless) I close my door and walk away, 5 seconds later the alarm goes off and I have to go back, unlock it and turn the key. Big PITA. It has done it every time I lock it. So now I am just doing the slide lock that will lock it but not arm the alarm. Has anybody had this problem? What could be the problem? I have had some weird issues in the past like every once in a while I will open the door and the alarm will automatically go off. Then it wont stop when i try to start the car. When that happens i just wait for the whole cycle to go through, wait a few mins and it will start. But that is only like once every 2-3 months that happens. If anybody can help I would appreciate it. Thanks

Sounds like the shock sensor has moisture in it. To get to it pull of the passenger side panel in the hatch, and you'll see a little black piece. Just unplug it, pull it apart and let the inside dry out. After getting all the moisture out put it back together and what i did was put electrical tape around the two pieces where they come together. Keeps moisture out and haven't had a problem since.

Thats awesome that I can use the key fob!! I was looking into whether or not I could and people said look on the sticker on your drivers door but that sticker is not readable anymore. But thanks!
As far as the shock sensor, when it is unplugged the alarm will still work fine right? I know it wont go off if you hit it or anything since its unplugged but will the rest of the alarm functions work like normal?
