Default Hatch speaker upgrade/replacement

What are people using for the hatch speakers? Are they sticking to the 4 inchers or upgrading to the 6x9s and modifying the panel?

if you are using 4 inchers...i feel sorry for your woman...i mean...what speakers are you using? i had some alpine type r or s and they blew.

if you upgraded the panel to use a different style...please explain.

thanks.

A lot of people just remove them, and don't replace them. I removed mine 7-8yrs ago and haven't missed them one bit!

Well it depends on what your looking for. Some people put 9000 sub woofers in the back and just rattle the glass in the car next to them.

Me I like sound , good sound that is why I have HD radio. Now to your question. I replaced mine with a Sony 6" X 4" because I did not have to do any modification to the car. They sound Great! When I was watching Fireworks on the 4th me and the wife had our seats reclined and listening to the radio I had the subs at ear level and the sound from the back just filled it out perfectly. That is My experience. Like I said it depends on what your are looking for.

I upgraded mine to some kickers and theyre kickn tail if i may say so myself. I also upgraded all the tweeters, but will most likely end up doing the 6*9 or just leave the 4" kickers..

i don't listen to jungle music...pretty much metal/punk/rock...stuff along those lines. i have a subwoofer in a stealth box powered by a RF p400 and that is plenty of bass for me. i want ear-bleeding highs and mids without resorting to a component system (don't want to cut holes and/or mount tweeters etc etc)...i have 4 jl audio c2 series in the doors and rear seat panels respectively.

now...6x4? those will bolt right in or will i have to cut and modify?

2001camarossls1...1) huge *** screen name. 2) how did you mount those 6x9s in there?

The hatch speakers definitely do something. I just realized that in my car, all I have for speakers are the stockers in the hatch, and the door speakers on the driver's side.

I've had the car going on 3 years, and I've always thought the stereo left a little to be desired. No wonder!!!
