Mines in the glove box. Theres an opening between the back of the head unit and the glove box for the cable to go through.

With my automatic console I removed the ashtray and ran the cable there. My ipod nano slides right in, no cutting required.

On a 6 speed console, there's a drink holder just ahead of the armrest door. I leave the I pod under the armrest out of sight most of the time, but I can easily take it out and put it in the drink holder without pinching the cable since the cable is the same thickness as the crack in the door.

I just have the wire come out from the back and down into the floor and I just leave my ipod on the floor under the seat I don't feel like drilling anything.

My iPod is velcroed to the flat spot hidden by the right lip of the glove box. That lip doesn't touch the iPod at all. I have an AVIC-D3 headunit with on-screen controls so I never have to touch the iPod.

I put mine in the glove box, I also have an Alpine. But if you use your phone i'd say use the console, or get a cheap one and put it the glove box.

I ran mine there the ashtray door. When not in use I just push it down there and its clean but when in use I put it in the little cubby ahead of it because I don't have TCS. I wanted mine out cuz it's an iphone as well and it would suck if it was in the glovebox.
