93-97 Firebird HU work in a 98 Monsoon system? I don't have much money and I'm looking to swap out the stock Monsoon CD player on my 98 TA with a cassette unit so I can plug my mp3 player in and retain use of the factory radio controls and keep the stock look. Would a tape deck from a 93-97 firebird work in a 98 with the Monsoon setup? What about the steering wheel controls? Thanks!

The units are interchangeable. The plugs, everything stays the same. The Monsoon just added a High level input amplifier to the existing stereo and stamped Monsoon on it. I have both units here and they are the same.
One thing you might want to consider is an FM Modulator, unlike a transmitter they plug in line with your antenna and should give you better sound quality than a cassette adapter. They aren't that expensive. I can get you one for 34.99 plus shipping and you can still have your CD deck.
