Default sub??

jus picked up the 98 ta. has monsoon radio. bass sucks *** in it so i was thinking of adding a 12 in the back. but can i tap into the factory deck an if so were an how?

Not unless you're going to have two subs. The bass signal will be the same left or right so you can connect the line level converter to either side.

ok update, installed loc to rear sail panel speakers. intsalled a jl w3 12in sub an a jl 700 watt amp. im getting power to speaker an out put but im not getting it to hit hard.. i mean a 700 watt amp should be enough to make a 12 hit right? or is the fact the factory deck has dick for out put?

Did you adjust the gains on the level converter. It should have an input and output gain adjustment that is usually turned way down. Adjustment with a small flat head screw driver.

i adjusted them all the way up... but there is not a gain on the amp... could that be the problem

^ did connect the + - terminals correctly? also, check if you connected them on the bridged terminals.

i belive so. i also bridged it. i spliced the converter in on bout the left an right seal panel speakers. but i get better bass is one of the rca's disconnected from the amp...

There has to be a gain on the amp. What model JL amp is it?
