Question Monsoon amp part number?

I've been trying to gather up all the parts to get the stock monsoon HU back in. My car currently has an aftermarket HU that stopped putting sound through all speakers and the wiring is all f**ked up . I guess I just like the look of the stock HU best.
Anyway, I was given a stock HU from an ex girlfriend out of her 2002 Z28. Now, I'm looking for the stock amp that goes with it. I've seen a couple different part numbers in my search. Just trying to find the right amp for the 2002 HU. Could anyone help me out with the part number?

I've got one from my 99 Pontiac TA. I don't know if they are the same. I'll just give it to you if you want. Just pay shipping. It worked when I pulled it out. I will say this though, it's been in the attic for at least 4 years. You can have it at your own risk. I have no way of testing it.

Yeah, I'd really appreciate that. What's the part number on yours? I just want to make sure that they are compatible, as soon as somebody else reponds to this thread with some help. But, in the meantime, how much to ship it to 95020?

You do realize that gm will probably have to do a code change on it or whatever its called, right. I believe they charge about $80 to do this BTW.

Wait, the HU will need a code change, or the amp?

The 97 Camaro Monsoon amp was P/N 16218061. That was the short-lived smaller amp that was replaced in 98 with P/N 16257161. The newer amp was somewhat larger and produced more power but was connected to the same speakers as used in the 97. So you should look for the newer part for the best performance.

Don't use a Firebird amp - they look and connect the same but are different internally. The Firebird amp didn't power the tweeters but did power hatch components and sail panel dual voice coil subs. The Camaro amp powered all eight speakers.

Nevermind, I guess I won't be needing yours after all. I appreciate the offer though. Thank you.
