Default Factory stereo does not turn off ?

I have a '93 Firebird Formula and I just installed a Factory Monsoon CD Headunit from a newer Trans Am. When I turn the car off, the radio stays on until I open the door as normal. When I open the door (either side) the radio shuts off, but as soon as the door is shut, it turns back on. It will stay on and not go back off unless I open the door or remove the fuse. Also, if the car is off and I manually turn the radio power off, the display will stay lit up with the clock for some time, but eventually the display goes off IF I have the radio off.

Any clues what would be causing this?? Thanks.

I am having this problem to, my battery actually died cause I didnt notice it at first. I resoldered the T on the BCM this seemed to fix it but for only about two weeks. Its got to be a problem with the BCM or door sensor, cause I also do not have interior lights when I open the door. I have an Alpine IVA-W505 installed also, been working fine for two years tho...

I think this is the problem I have now, and my battery died because of it.
