Default Bass Problems

Hello all,
In Sept I managed to finally get my dream car, a red 2000 WS6 manual. Since then I have been playing with the 7-ch eq on the Monsoon system and realized that even on bass heavy songs I am only getting mild bass from the subs. I have checked and the amp is there and I am not having any other problems with the sound. I did several searches and read the Monsoon FAQ and am wondering if there is a way to test to see if the problem is the amp, HU, or the subs themselves. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ps: while checking some stuff out, under the drivers side sailpanel in the wiring bundle I found some rolled up wire with a pin connecter on the end. I am assuming this is a hookup for the changer?

Welcome to your dream car.

You should check out the stickies in each section. You'll find lots of great information there.

All Firebird's absolutely need to things.
- Proactive work to prevent cracked door panels: https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-f...uote-pics.html
- Replacement of the stock subs in the sail panels. The stock speakers get torn up after 5 min of use. Your car takes special speakers that can't be found in stores. Check out the sticky in the electronics section and then check out Kee Audio. He has several direct-fit options in different price ranges.

Sorry to hijack the thread but the door panels are my next project. The passenger's side is cracked the entire width, and driver's has a beginning crack at the top. Here's a good link too:

I had looked at the stickies and didn't see anything that might account for weak but not distorted bass. Like I said I was thinking there might be a problem with the amp but am unsure how to check it and not really wanting to take it to a audio shop since i figure they will just try to sell me stuff.

Remove the spare.
You'll pick up some serious bass.
