Default I need a new sub for my JL Stealthbox.

I have one of the early JL stealthbox's from back in 2000/2001 era and one of the wires broke off the voice coil, so now it's a single voice coil. My question is, I see that JL has changed their line of subwoofers over the years, and the box is a pretty specific size, and I know that just any ole 10" sub won't fit right, so does anyone have any suggestions for what fits?

I'm not looking to get into an argument over who's subwoofers are the best, I'm just looking for something that will fit properly in there.

Thanks.

Take it out and measure the depth as well as diameter and look on crutchfield or any other site similar to it and look at the specs to the subs your interested in. Or hit best buy or custom sounds with your measurements and you can measure theirs. A 10" circle is a 10" circle, the depth is probably what your going to be worried about. Also you can look up the enclosure volume specs for your sub so when you get your new sub (if spec'd similar) it will be in a box sized for it.

See a 10" circle isn't a 10" circle since the JL stealthbox has the sub recessed into a lip. So a 10 1/4" might be too big and not fit into the lip, and a 10.0" might be too small. The box is fiberglass as well, so it's not like it's easily changed.

Take your measurements and hit the local sound shop. If you have all the measurements you need then you will get the correct one if you can't find an exact JL replacement.

JL tech support emailed me back and said the 10w3v3-4 is a direct drop in fitment and actually a far better sub compaired to what I bought back in 2000. I think the stealthbox was one of the first mods I did when I got my car in August of 2000.

That's a good deal. I may be looking to upgrade to a double din head unit as well, so I'll talk to you about a combo deal of head unit, bezel and sub.

Well, let me just say that I don't need to play dvds or have navigation and I don't want Jensen. So let me know what that leaves me.

Wouldn't happen to know if anything is coming out that controls the Zune better than the Kenwood BT-901?

I doubt it since the Zune is a dead platform (more or less) but doesn't hurt to ask...

The new Kenwoods will have A2DP streaming for not only iphone but Android and Blackberry
There is alot of changes including them being alot faster and all NAV units but one will have built in HD radio as well.

I will have info shortly and will post all the pics. Kenwood kinda got a little upset with me spilling the beans on corvetteforum.com

I'm bumping this back to the top for any sponsors who might have the JL 10w3v3-4 in stock. I've tried to contact DoubleDmods multiple times now trying to buy with no luck.
