Im looking to replace the front door speakers on my 2002 z28. it has teh moonsoon head unit in it. my front door speakers sound like crap. can they just be replace with any hting or does it take a certain speaker to work with the monsoon?

Camaro door speakers are components (not coaxial). One of our sponsors (Kee Audio) sells CDT components that mount and wire the same as stock but have much better sound.

Inifinity is the route I took..... Disconnected the tweeter from the input plate on the speaker and wired them up as a component. Works great

i just replaced all my speakers with jbl's.. ur front speakers will have two sets of wires, one for the tweeter and one for the woofer. the tweeter is 4 ohms and the woofer is 2. i disconnected the tweeter wire and used just the woofer wires to hook up to the new jbl speakers. they sound amazing and were only $60 on amazon. whatever speaker u go with i suggest a 2 ohm. i tried some pioneer 4 ohms before i knew what i was getting into and they didnt have anywhere near the sound of the jbls

I started out with alpine sps610c's... They sound pretty good but was lacking at higher volume. Ended up putting infinity reference 6032 ( I think) and they sound much better. You can't just cut and splice though, you got to desolder the tweeter wires and wire them up correctly - or it will sound like ****
