Default Stock Alarm

I recently picked up my TA and had a question about the alarm. I tried looking around, but couldn't find anything. When I arm the alarm, I hear 2 quick beeps, which seems normal. But about 5-10 seconds after those, there are 2 longer sounds of the horn. This doesn't sound normal, and if it is a problem, how do I remedy it? Thanks a lot for the help!

Have you tried reading the manual? It should tell you everything about the alarm and how to re-program it. It might be bypassing a zone. Just a guess though.

Yeah I looked it all over and couldn't find a thing. This is really starting to **** me off, and probably my neighbors even more when I get back real late. Thanks for the suggestion though.

well .... the ONLY thing i can think of .... is theer a short in the sensor at all?

Cause ... if u open the hatch? then close it .... it will tkae a few seconds before it arms again ... but they are usually short as well.

we're not all LS1 F-body gods in here. we don't know everything. try talking to a dealership if you don't like the lack of responses.

sometimes the right people arent around to answer, and sometimes its a topic thats been discussed sooooo much that people automatically skip over it.

anyway, does the shock sensor work?

i would think that the shock sensor is bad, and that when you arm it and hear the two longer beeps thats actually the 'warning' beep that the shock sensor will trigger when the car is knocked before the alarm sounds on the second knock.

if thats not it, i know in the manual it lists the proceedure for setting up the alarm & keyless entry chirps and headlight flashes, you might want to go thru that and see if that fixes it.

not sure if this will work..

lock your door from the side of your door inside before you close em/it (power locks).. see what happens then.. there should be no sounding of the alarm (horn beeps, 2 times)

i lock my doors this way all the time instead of attracting the attention with the horn.. your lights will do a 1 second flash and it's all locked and armed
