Default A bit more work on the system: HUMount, DoubleD Stealthbox, etc.

New HUMount finally went in this weekend:

I also just installed my new Double D stealth box, and it fits great:

The old stealth box would not sit all the way inside the cavity:

Subthump box on the left, Double D on the right:

Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 went back in (for now):

I can actually fit my T-Tops now!

The rest of the system, previously installed:

JL XD700/5 Amp in place of the factory Delco amp...

Invisible:

CDT Mid Woofers:

Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5 Components up front (for now):

Looks really good! One thing on your stealth box, if you take the plastic piece of the interior that covers the top of the stealth box and roll it over there is two spots of plastic that need cut out and this will allow it to sit better. I still wasn't satisfied with that either and ended up cutting 3/4" off the top of the box, this allows the plastic interior piece to sit back down where it goes and lock into place. Love that head unit mount, looks sweet!

I've got two Kappa Perfect 12s and forgot how massive that magnet/coil was. Great speakers. Still pound hard. Went to 10s for now. Gonna try em.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't even think to look at the underside of that plastic piece. I'll see if I can trim it a bit.

I've been pretty happy with it, with a few caveats. This is actually my second one, since they have been known to have the lead wires separate from the voice coil during use. My first one died because of this.

I am somewhat underpowering it though. The JL amp puts 180W RMS to it at 4 ohms, but I used to run 250W RMS to it with my old dual amp setup.

It still sounds nice though. Very tight and punchy.

I had a HUmount in my Grand Prix, loved it and got a lot of compliments. May I ask how much all this ran you?

Too bad the Double D stealth box doesn't match the interior fabric at all. Why would they use black, instead of charcoal? Or did you go with black on a personal choice?
