Default Remote start viper 5701v install questions

Hello,

I was wondering what wires I need to run for the t3 wiring harness I have a 95 Camaro a4. I have hooked up the rest of the alarm system and love it. now it's time to install the remote start part and was wondering if someone can walk me through that part.

Thanks everyone

I assume you mean harness H3, I see no reference to t3 in the install manual. The 95 camaro only has 1 ignition, and 1 accessory, and the starter wire. You hook the H3's Plain Pink to the heavy pink on the column, Orange to orange, Cut the heavy yellow starter wire in half on the column. Connect the green wire to the key side of the yellow wire you cut in half and the purple connects to the other side away from the key side. You have to hook up the the 3 reds or at least 2, red white not needed unless your using the flex relay(pink/white) output for something. The reds hook up to the reds on the column there should be 2, doesn't matter which to which, just hook one to each of the cars. The pink/black and pink/white aren't used for your car. You have to hook up the brake pedal wire, light blue at switch, to the thin brown wire of the viper. On the same harness as the thin brown is a black/white and you have to hook that to ground. Tach is more difficult you might want to try tachless first, if tach needed you have to hook up the purple white of the viper White-V6, red/black-V8. Location is front of left cylinder head for V6 and at a 4 pin plug at the passenger side valve cover for the V8.
The last thing you need to hook up is the VATS bypass. Test your pellet in the key with a ohm meter and read how many ohms it is. Then get a resistor of the same or close value less than 10% different. On the column is a thin flat orange cable, in it are 2 thin white wires. You have to connect the 2 white wires together with a relay and the resistor in series with the connection. Pins 30 and 87 of the relay attach to each of the white thin wires, one of them has to have the resistor connected between it and its white wire. The relay has 2 coil/switch connections 85 and 86. 85 can connect to the red 12v constant wire, 86 connects to the thin blue wire (-) on the 5 pin connector that also has pink, orange, purple, pink/white which aren't used.

Other wires not needed but options are the hood pin input gray wire.

If you hooked up tach wire you have to program tach, start car with key and within 5 seconds hold program switch till LED lights. If LED doesn't light up in a few seconds then somethings wrong with tach hookup. if it lights up then it programmed. you might have to set menu 3 setting 2 to option 4, some modules do it automatically when you program tach, I would double check it's 4.

You also have to change program option Menu 3 option 1 to setting 2 for automatic or else the car wont start because it thinks its a manual transmission and has a special procedure to start for that.

It's in the book install manual page 60, if you need it I can email it to you. Basically door has to be open, you turn the key on then off then you hold the program button (on the antenna/led module). The siren will chirp once for menu 1, if you keep holding it, it will chirp twice for menu 2 and then 3 times for menu 3. After the 3 chirps release the button and press it once then release then press it again and hold it. You should get 1 chirp for option 1 (of menu 3) and press unlock on the remote. You should here 1 or 2 chirps depending and what it's set at. hit unlock or lock to change the setting to 2 chirps. if you want to do the next option in menu 3 release then program button press it once again and hold it you'll hear 2 chirps for option 2 etc.

Well I programed it for automatic and hooked up both reds to a 12 volt source and brake light is hook up and green and purple are hooked up but when I press the remote start I get a buzzing sound and the f l.e.d light is solid then 5seconds later you can here the brain clicking. Would you know what that would be?

doesn't sound familiar. first off where did you hook up the heavy reds. you also don't mention the heavy pink wire. can you figure out what's buzzing? is it in the viper or a relay external. where did you ground the alarms black wire and the black white neutral safety wire. maybe you could take a picture of your connections and post them here

I ment the remote buzzes and I have the pink wire connected to the pink ignition wire under the column and I have not grounded the neutral safety switch yet as well as putting the resister on the two white vats wires. I think that could be the cause of nothing happening exept the lights flashing 7 times. I think I need to slow down again lol and quit moving to fast.

first off 7 flashes means your still in manual transmission mode try programming option 3 -1 again. second you have to ground the white black wire or nothing will work in automatic mode. third if you stick the key in the ignition without turning it, then try remote start it will get around the vats to test it

the options on the 2 choice settings are lock or unlock unlike the 4 options settings where you can toggle thru them by hitting unlock multiple times. so If setting option 3-1 with lock still gives you 7 flashes upon remote start then try programming it again pushing unlock on the remote

so as long as you can get 3-1 to be automatic and 3-2 to be tachless if you didn't hook up the purple white. put the key in the ignition and try to remote start it
