Need Advice on Upgrading Alt & Battery Just installed a sound system in my 2000 SS and want to upgrade the charging system. Read the Sticky on getting a higher output alternator and better battery but just wanted to know which alternator and battery most are using. Also, don't want to have to modify anything and want the new alternator to bolt up where the stock alternator is and what output to get. Is over 200 too much? Other suggestions?
Here is my system for gauging what I might need: Pioneer AVH-P6300BT, Audison Voce AV 5.1k 5-channel amp, Hertz Hi Energy HSK 165 components in front with tweeters mounted in A-pillar, Hertz Hi Energy HCX 165 coaxials in sail panels, 2-12" Hertz Hi Energy HX 300 subs in Q-Logic box, and Sunami 2 farad cap, mounted in t-top well below Q-Logic sub box.
