Has anyone done a double din with an "Installation kit" as a bezel?

Default Has anyone done a double din with an "Installation kit" as a bezel?

I've been wondering if something like this would work.....

Not necessarily this exact piece, but one like this that has a bezel:

Cut the factory bezel enough to get the 2 din radio in, then putting the bezel of the installation kit flush with the factory trans am (or camaro) bezel??

WHY? you already have to cut the existing opening larger (in which you size it perfectly for the radio), why would you buy something you don't need?

You don't need to buy a mounting kit if you are installing a Double-Din.

Trim the dash opening.
Make brackets to mount the headunit.
Trim or replace the bezel.

What you do need is the wiring harness adapter. Which is sold separately.
