Default Stealth Box Fitment

Just installed my sub & stealthbox here recently. While I am very pleased with the sound, I thought the fitment would look just a bit better. Here it is as it sits now:

It seems like it should go deeper in the cubby hole but just won't fit. I read that some people cut out the carpet before installing their stealthbox? Will that work?

Sorry, can't answer your question, although it seems like it should fit better than that. I like your sub though, bet it sounds great!

Thanks! I originally thought of getting 2 subs, but went with one to see how I liked it. It may only be a 10" but it is PLENTY. Comes with a Punch bass EQ control and I have yet to turn it over half

Were did you get the box from? I got mine from KEE and did not have to cut the carpet out. It should fit a lot better than that.

looks like it's not seated back all the way, have you tried simply removing that section of carpet that the box covers (that cubby hole is separate from the rest of the rear carpet, FYI)

Got it from Subthump. Think I read somewhere that the enclosures are different between Camaros and Birds. Even though the listing said it's for the Firebird, the same picture is also used in the Camaro listing.

I'll try that later today

I've got to agree, remove the separate form-fit carpet like piece, it should go in further.

I 3rd what they said...remove the separate piece of carpet...there's also a black, grill like, piece of plastic that just lifts up and out. I've got a JL Audio Vantage box and the instructions specifically said to pull both items out for a proper fit.

Update: I removed the carpet but still no dice. I filed down some of the corners of the box, fitment was still better but no good enough. Pulled the carpet back more and found out that the some guy at the factory put way too much seam sealer or whatever it's called in the trunk area. It was over an inch high in some spots. Got a razor and shaved it off where the sub was going. Put everything back and it's nearly perfect.
