Default Four wire front speaker question

I have an alpine coaxial 2 way speaker system, can I split the wires on the speaker to use them in the four wire set-up. Thanks for your help

I have seen people do it on here, but I wouldn't. Just get the PROPER type of speaker for the location.

whys, whats wrong with doing it? I figured I have the speakers, so why waste money on new ones? Is there a specific reason for not doing it.

potentially the wrong speaker impedance (ohms) and the chance, depending on the exact speaker you have of actually exceeding the rms of the speaker (unlikely but potentially possible).

the factory camaro doors use a 2 ohm "woofer" and a 4 ohm tweeter, if your maintaining the factory amp then you want to try to match that or you risk screwing up your sound stage.
