Default Problem with stereo

Yesterday when I was out driving and listening to some music, I heard some weird beeping noises come from my stereo over the music then the subs died. When I say died I don't mean they blew I just mean they quit producing sound. So far I have checked all the fuses in the amp and throughout the stereo and have come up with nothing. Does anyone have an idea why this happened and how I can fix it? By the way the subs are mtx 6000s and the amp is an mtx 6500d, and my headunit is a panasonic (not sure of the evact model but it was the $350 one with the blue 3-d display)
Thanks in advance for any input.
