So I bought the GM9 adaptor cable to use with my Monsoon system in my 2002 SS. What else do I need to be able to plug in my MP3 player?

Then you don't have a GM9-AUX. I have one so I know what it looks like. What did you get?

That looks almost like the black cable in the pic I posted above instead of the actual adapter.

There are a couple different versions, but they will always have a box and not just a cable.
