Default Anyone with a dash cam/car security camera?

My Dad is having problems with neighbors and local kids vandalizing his cars. I'm looking to get him a security camera, any suggestions?

We had a mentally ill neighbor pissing on people's doors at night and caught him with a standard web camera. We just took the web cam out of the casing, wrapped the circuit board in electrical tape (to hide the board and LED) and put it in a window. It's very cheap, hard to see, and usually will have software that will only record when the camera senses motion.

This might not work well if the area isn't lit well.

Not a bad idea, but he's not exactly computer savvy. And the area isn't too well lit at night, so that would be a problem. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I'd then either:
- Get one of those wildlife cameras that people hang on trees to find out where deer/pray hang out at night (they see infrared in the dark)

- Get one of these and listen for the scream:

I like the bear trap idea. I didn't even think of a deer camera. Those kids are like animals anyway. What do those things use, an SD card?

I had a video/sound recorder built in my Viper. It was motion sensored while the car was off and recorded full time 360 degrees while I drove. It also recorded GPS cordinates, speed, g forces, and sound. The perfect witness. You can pick up a plug and play one for 249. Pst me for more info if interested for the link. Works great for shadey Cops as well... You ticketed me for going how fast....? Car gps recorders dont lie. I got sick of being harrassed by the PD in my Viper.

A must have for any nice car were a crap bag might be tempted to mess with it or a hit and run..
