sub keeps cutting out

sub keeps cutting out my sub seems to keep turining itself on and off...(that bass goes away then comes back)...not sure if its just my ground or if i need to adjust the gain?? just wondering if anyone has had this problem or if they know what i should do to fix it cuz its starting to make me mad cus it cuts out then it comes back on again...
