Default Help- Monsoon says "ERR"

The cd player stopped working, and now just gives me the "ERR" msg. Also, if there is no cd loaded, the radio keeps making the sound like it's trying to eject a cd that isn't in there. FM/AM radio still works fine though. Anyone know how to fix this?

I think its done.
Mine did this intermitantly (like on cold winter mornings), but most of the incidents that I have heard about were unrepairable.

When does this happen? With all CDs? Certain CD-Rs? CD-RWs?
I dont think it will read a CD-RW anyway.
Has it stoped working (playing CDs) altogether?

If its still under warranty, get it replaced (I'm on my 3rd one now due to the display malfunctioning).

At first it just would skip a lot on good cd's. Now it won't play cd's at all. And if I don't at least put one in there it keeps trying to eject a cd that isn't even in there. I'm 5K miles out of warrantee...gues I'll have to replace it unless there is any way to fix it.

stick a fork in it she's done , dood. the eject /load mechanism has taken a dump on you .you can easily replace the head with an aftermarket , but it won't control the changer if you have one.

Sure it will control the changer. You can get a converter and/or interface module for the Delco CD changer. You could also buy one from one of the guys who have happily replaced their entire Monsoon system with something infinitely better around here.

Yep, just had to chime in. This happened to mine a whopping two months after I got it . It's finished. I listened to the radio for as long as I could stand and just recently bought a new monsoon head unit. If this one goes out, as much as I don't want to, I guess I'll have to get an aftermarket head unit. So in short...I wasn't able to fix mine, and from what I know you won't be able to either.
