Anything special needed on a stereo install on a '96 caddy?? Just wondering if any of you stereo guys know about installing a stereo(not shure what brand) on a '96 STS because the guy at Best Buy told my buddie that it will cost about $500 to install because of something to do with security system. Thanks in advance

96 caddy should have a Bose system in it meaning depending on what you do your going to need an adaptor or to wire around the Bose system. What are you planning on replacing in the car?

The stereo is the only thing that will be replaced. Hmm so it's nothing security system related that would cost so much or hinder the install?? I'm guessing the Best Buy goon was prolly just full of BS in the first place. Thanks!!

well i just listed everthing you will need and the computer just crashed : (
here we go again if your caddy was a little newer it would have the gm data II bus connector that would have somthing to do with the door chime and airbags the adapter for that is a little pricey like 150 bux.
you should need the following parts for the install
metra # 99-4500 Dash Kit
# 40-gm10 Ant adapter
# and if it has the bose system you will need the soungate part ????? **** I forgot the # or just a metra 70-1858 if it doesnt
