Replace Sail-Panel Subs with Full-range? Please help...
OK. Will this work? (Monsoon Question)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If I put reasonably efficient 6.5" speakers in the sail panels (where the mid-subs are), could I feed them with the leads that originally went to the hatch speakers? The reasoning for this is because I already have a sub and the sail-panel subs make the sound to "boomy". I have a 2000 Z28 coupe if that helps... Thanks in advance!

i asked the same question a little while back, but go no response. i upgraded my door speakers to the alpines (look at the top of this forum) and unplugged all of my other speakers. so i just have the door speakers and the sub, and it sounds pretty damn good considering the alpines are still working off of the monsoon POS. so if nothing else, i would say to upgrade your door speakers to the alpines and then unplug all of your other speakers. the hatch speakers are a good idea, but they don't take high volumes well. and the sail panel subs...well, they just suck anyway

this will not work very. The Monsoon subs are going to be 2 ohm, aftermarket speakers are usually 4 ohm and will sound like ****. If you have a sub already, I would just unplug the sail panel speakers, it will probably sound better.
