can i get the radio code from the deck befor it is erased or locked I just bought the car and i do no know the theftlock code and I would like to know it if my battery ever dies , can I get it out of the radio before the battery ever dies?

it is an 01 z with monsoon tape
I knew i could do that but I thought that was for when it was locked , can I turn it off without the code or how do I know it is on

Once the deck loses power, it will not work unless the code is re-entered. This method removes the code entirely, so it is not a factor anymore.
