How would that work with the slim ps2, since the lid lifts up instead of slides out? If you could get the DVD drive out of a regular ps2 that the tray slides in and out that would probably work but on the slim ones, it lifts up. I would mostly use it for games though, since the flip out screen would be a DVD player as well obviously.

Well, you have have a habit of leaving important information out. I don't play games myself so I'm not real familiar with them, but I assumed it was the big tray load PS2.
So you want to install the slim PS2, right? Then there's no way it would mount under the radio because you would not be able to get the discs in or out.
Well, I found a pic of the CD tray.
You might be able to mount the body in the dash if you can access all the connectors in the front and put the laser in a box in the glove compartment. I think the front connectors will be blocked though.
What do you need up front?
DVD drive, controllers, power switch, etc..?
I'm sure there's a way to do it. Try asking a local installer who's done them before in SUV's. I'm sure he would know about the inverters, extending the buttons on the PS2, etc...
If I come up with any good ideas, I'll let you know.
PS. What are the dimensions of the unit?
