Look what I Ordered
clicky x2
clicky - ttop box matching the solobarics
-------------
my current system
98 camaro ss
deck
Focal K2 speakers all the way around (also known as sex for your ears )
t-top enclosure housing 2x mtx thunder 5500's, (T5510-44 to be specific seen here clicky
mtx amp clicky - even though its a tad under rec rms, the subs still hit hard, just not enough
My speaker amp is an orion 400.4 (its so old I can't find any info on it)
So now I'm lookin to upgrade, bought the solobarics, now I need an amp to power them (or 2 amps hehe) I wanna push them to at least 600 rms, but depends on the amps I find.
all in all i cant wait to get it all installed.
edit: links fixed

I cant wait to get them installed, I need to buy a new amp for my speakers, I only have 4, the hatch speakers are disconnected, no point with subs. So I need a good 4 channel amp, and a good amp thats ognna make those solobarics hit
Any suggestions? I'd prefer to keep the amps matching brands (also something in blue or chrome if possible, but not required)

Is that a new design for subthump? I don't remember seeint that model that allows you to hold the t-tops. I like it a lot. How easy is it to get the t-tops in and out?
Also, let us know how it sounds when its installed.

I talked to a kid near me who has one, and he says they slide right in and out, its not in the factory holders, but they do fit secure and don't bang or rattle.

I was going to build a fiberglass stealth box for the passenger side, but I like the idea of having multiple speakers, plus not having to build the f'n thing. I might have to buy one soon...

if you are going fo quality and still dont want to pay too much theni would go with a zapco or arc audio for your subs. audiobahn and power acoustik are good amps but they are made to be loud as hell not necessarily clear sounding. the zacpo is going to give you both and the most bang for your buck the 500.1 is $499 and does 500 - 550 wrms all day give it more input and the output only goes up get a 360.4 for your highs but, if you have kicker stuff then why not stick with them and just do amps and speakers all the way around

Don't know much about zacpo.
I've heard lots of power acoustik systems and they sounded pretty good to me (maybe just their speakers suck?, all those systems had RF, MB quart or focal speakers)
I know right now with my orion 400.4 (alot of people say orion sounds like ****), and my mtx amp the system is so clear you could hear a pin drop between hits, no static or distortion at any time (unless you go to loud of course but we all know about that)
right now I'm getting about 75w to each door speaker, I want at least 100 to each speaker (because it doesnt quite go as loud as i want it), as well as putting at least 450ish watts to each solobaric (number lowered after seeing how hard these mfers actually hit), all the while keepingmy car's theme of black and blue, power acoustik seems to be closest for that.
And im not cheap, i mean if the power acoustik amps sound like **** ill sell them and buy different ones, but everyone ive talked to who runs them swears by them.

I don't think so, I don't have my box yet but I'm pretty sure they dont.

put some power to those subs. i have a 10L7 and have around 600w going to it from a Kicker KX600.1(says that it was tested and it put out 750), and it hits like crazy. the 12L7 is somewhere around 800rms, a 1200w amp should be right waht you want. the kicker amps have a part that is paintable, so they could keep inline with your theme. Audiobahn does make some really nice looking amps too, and they work good.

I'm adding 5 farat compacitors to the setup, So I think the power acoustik amp should be enough to make those things pound.
If not maybe ill do a 3 amp setup, 1 for speakers, then 1 amp per sub
(I like the power acoustik plasma sphere amps, its like perfect for what i want as far as looks, and they sound good from what i hear to)
