Box & Polyfill If you have a box that is .6 cu ft and a sub that uses .625 for best sound. Would you need to use any amount of pollyfill. Thanks.
It's a JL 10W6v2 in a subthump driver side stealth box, and a Kicker KX600.1 amp.

About 1/2 lbs. From what I remember, it's 10% gain for every 1lbs per 1 ft^3.
I haven't used that rule of thumb in a while. I might be off a bit, but atleast a 1/2lbs and you'll be fine.

So about 1/2 pound huh. Doesn't the fill make the speaker think the box is bigger. So if you have a sub in a 1cubic foot box and the sub requires 1 foot, then you would not gain anything from using it, right? Let me know if im wrong on this or not, cause this is just how I had always thought that it worked. If so I need to know how much I need to use to make the sub think the box is .625 cu feet instead of the actual .6. Thanks.

General rule is 1 pound of fill per square foot of box.
Being that your sealed box is only ,025 less than required, I don't think that it will make that big of a difference.
BUT...1/2 pound would make a difference and make it play a little lower.

The fill contains the Air when it is moved. It also slows the build up of heat which in turn causes the air space to decrease due to pressure.
It also helps decrese Standing waves. That alone can increase appairent space. It is worth it to use it. Just because your speaker is in the Min. Required doesn't mean it's operating at it's optimum. Go for the fill and don't look back. It'll help out alittle.

Well I got the polyfill, and 1/2 pond (8ounces) is alot of polyfill. I put in maybe 2 ounces and it fills the bottom of the stealth box. It sounds good but I know it could be better with a bigger box. Should I put the other 6 ounces in there. Will that much being in there interfer with the rear vent of the sub or anything.
Basically If i put 8ounces in there it is going to fill up the box, then the sub is going to sit down in the polyfill.. Good or bad.

I'll throw the rest of it in there and see what it does. Thanks for the replies. I hate taking subs out once they are in. Especially since this one has 10 big *** screws in it. I'll post how it turns out.
