Key FOB quit working
I am coming back to my car after class on Friday and I hit unlock. My car does nothing.
All of a sudden, my car won't lock, won't unlock. Key FOB just plain quit. I have no idea where to begin on this one. Anyone have this happen?

I had this happen once. Read in the owner's manual something about it getting out of since. There's two of the buttons that you press and hold and it will resync itself. I think it was lock and unlock but I don't remember for sure. If you don't have your owner's manual, let me know and I'll go find mine.

I've had the batteries quit like that before on my remote, just all the sudden stop working.
Or as stated above, if you press the buttons too far from the car the remote and the receiver can get out of snych. There should be instructions in the manual to fix that, as stated.

On my 1996. It says to pull the radio fuse. And turn the key to run 3 times on and off. The locks will both lock and unlock then hold the lock and unlock on the key fob. It will repeat. That's hows its done on my 1996.

Remote matching instructions:
1. Turn ignition to RUN and then OFF to ensure that the BCM is awake and the alarm (if equipped) is disabled.
2. Remove the RADIO fuse in the fuse panel at the left end of the dash. The RADIO fuse is in the lower right corner of the fuse panel.
3. Turn the ignition key from OFF to RUN three times quickly (within five seconds). The vehicle will respond by locking the doors, unlocking the driver’s door and releasing the hatch. Your transmitter is now ready to match the vehicle. Leave the ignition in RUN.
4. Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the first transmitter for 15 seconds. The vehicle will respond as in Step 3.
5. Repeat Step 4 for any remaining transmitters.
6. When you have finished matching all of your transmitters, turn off the ignition and replace the RADIO fuse.
