I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I searched the forums and couldn't find an answer. I have a 2000 Z28, with a stock Monsoon HU w/tape deck. I also have a stock CD changer. I am planning on buying an aftermarket HU (not sure what kind). I know I need the PAC SWI-X to retain my steering wheel controls. Can I still retain the stock CD changer though? If so, what additional adapters do I need? Or does the HU need to have a specific feature to work with my stock CD changer? Thanks!

No, the factory changer can't be used with an aftermarket head unit. There used to be adapters that would allow using the factory changer with Kenwood head units but they don't make them anymore.

Does anyone else know anything about this? Because I also want to get a aftermarket head-unit, but I want to keep my stock 12 disc. Is there ANY decks that can do this or a device that can intergrate it?

is it possible to wire the cd changer to rca jacks and use it that way?

Yes, then it would be the same as connecting any other auxiliary input as long as the head unit supports that. But you wouldn't be able to control the changer through the head unit - you'd have to have some other way to change discs and tracks.
