i had two 12 with a 1200 watt amp and it would sound ok i always thought it would sounded better with two 10 becase the speakers would have a bit more air in the box. the hatch serves like a box itself. i live in dallas and found a nice box for camaro/ bird that is ported for 2 12s at the local flea market for 60 dollars. i want to try that out might sound good

I have two audiobahn 10" in a sealed box that takes up the T-Top Racks space and it sounds great. Will post pics later. If you shop on e-bay you could get a great set-up for under $500 easy. If you shop at your local audio store, your looking at $500 minimum for two 10's and an amp. installed.

Our cars respond very well to subwoofers in the hatch. A single good quality 10" in the right box (size/tuning), with sufficient power will sound very good and easily over power the remainder of the factory system.

If you have not heard subs in an f-body you should try to get some seat time in one. The hatch provides much better reienforcement than is typical in a car trunk or truck.

I just took out a custom box with 2 12" Kicker CVR subs.... It take up the whole trunk, but I dont have t-tops so it worked well and def sounded awesome. I only used a 400watt kicker amp, but that was still plenty loud

I have 3 12's and i love the shound and the way it looks. Use a prefab for 2 12's box and fiber glass it for 3 12's. If you whant to go with low cost setup I have use two 12" kikers CVRs with a performance teknique 779 I think i got the woofers for 100bucks each and 150 for the amp and shound as good as my tree 12's (but i had a box that was 4' cubic sq.ft <img src="http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/2502000-2502999/2502653_9_full.jpg">

If you want to keep the t-top area then go with a good quality 10" in a stealth box and hit it with a lot of power. 500-1000 watts ought to do it. The high power is also why you need a good quality 10, not a junk one. This will put out some real bass.

I can't say on the price but at least $200 for a good brand new sub and a good used amp can be had for under $200. Something like a Rockford 800a2 would put out 1000w and can be found on ebay.

Remember, everytime you double the power you get a 3 dB increase. Doubling the cone area with the same power to each speakers gives you a 6 dB increase. So a single 10" with 1000w will sound the same as 500 watts on a pair of 10's (250w each), but only take up half the airspace.

Typical air space for a 10" sub designed for small sealed enclosures is about .75 cu ft.

If you don't care about the t-top space there are a lot of choices.

camaro2cruz, that box is waaaay too small for 3 12's. Looks about right for a single 12".

If you are looking to use high power on a budget check out the new db-500 from TC Sounds, 20mm Xmax, high power handling (recommend 200w-700w RMS), Low Fs, in a .6 cuft box for $100. You can find out more if you google around. I own a TC sounds driver and the quality is top notch. This looks like a very good bang for the buck driver.

Never heard of 'em you say? Sure you have, TC Sounds supplies subs for Eclipse, Elemental Designs, Aerial Acoustics, Oz Audio, Styke Audio (until recently), SV Subwoofers (A.K.A. SVS, except for the PCi driver), and many others, and has recently started selling direct to the public.

I appologise if I sound like an advertisment, I am in no way connected to the company, I just love their product and thought I would pass on an interesting option.
