Default Major problems with electronics! Help!

I just bought my 98 Z-28, and the P.O. had a tacky stereo hooked up. All the wires were taped to speakers, sub box wedged into the hatch, etc. After unhooking everything and re-attaching all speaker/sub/amp connections(except the 4-channel amp-- i left the pwr wire hooked up to the splitter, and simply taped over it), i went to move the car out of my garage. Won't start. Lots of clicking, security light blinking and the like. Upon further investigation I found the harness going to the alarm "box"(located under the pass. side rear speaker panel) with one connector going into the alarm box and another hanging. Is this causing a shut-off status? I can't seem to locate the other point for a connector to plug into. Any help on this would be appreciated.

The box you are reffering to, in that location, is the shock sensor. Basically it detects vibration and will set the alarm off. And it will not effect the start of the vehicle.

Where is the clicking sound coming from? Have you made sure that you didn't drain the battery down enough to where the car won't start?

that's exactly what it was; thanx for the reply. the 12v pwr cable going to the amp that i left unplugged must have discharged to the chassis and drained the thing out.
